How we can afford to sell high-quality websites for $200 a month

They say “if something seems to be too good to be true, it probably is” — and in most cases, I’d agree.

But after having several conversations with business owners who were a bit, shall we say, skeptical of the quality of website I can produce at $200 a month through my Website Plans, I thought I’d explain how it works, and why I don’t have to sacrifice my high standards to provide a low-cost website option.

Yes, websites are expensive

Most businesses are shocked when they learn that the average price of a small business website is in the neighborhood of $5,000-$10,000.

And you know what? I don’t blame them!

Getting a business off the ground is expensive — and most people don’t have $10,000 laying around.

But in today’s world, a website is necessary if you want your business to succeed.

A website isn’t just one thing — it’s a lot of little things that all have to work together to make the final product what you see…

  • Strategy
  • Content writing
  • Design
  • Development
  • Performance optimization
  • Compliance
  • Validation
  • Ongoing maintenance

It all adds up — and when you consider all that it takes to build a website, it starts to make sense why website development is so expensive.

Sacrificing quality would be a huge mistake

In most industries, including web development, the first option people consider when trying to reduce costs is to lower quality.

And you don’t have to look hard to find web agencies who are willing to cut corners in order to lower prices or increase profits.

You don’t have to look hard to find web agencies who are willing to cut corners in order to lower prices or increase profits.

Since many of these sacrifices are done “under the hood” they can be completely undetectable by the average person.

But when a website fails to produce results or quits working within months, the build quality issues make themselves apparent.

While it might feel like saving money, having to have a website rebuilt actually ends up costing more in the long run.

Besides, I’ve worked too hard honing my skills and building a reputation to become the “Walmart of Web Design”.

But there’s another option industries with high costs have figured out in order to make their product affordable without sacrificing quality — and it’s exactly how my Website Plans work.

Payment options are a win-win

I consider myself lucky to have built up a sustainable and profitable business with OGAL Web Design (my custom development company) that supports the lifestyle my family and I want for ourselves.

And it’s because of that success, that I can take on a little risk to make my service easier to finance.

In January of 2022 (after some initial testing and trials) I officially launched my Website Plans.

A website plan is a monthly subscription service that takes care of your website design, hosting, security, and ongoing content updates – all for an affordable monthly fee.

Unlike traditional website design services, there’s no large upfront fee. Your website costs are billed month to month, instead of all at once at the start of your project.

With plans starting as low as $200 per month, virtually any business can afford to have a professional, custom website built.

With plans starting as low as $200 per month, virtually any business can afford to have a professional, custom website built — without sacrificing my high standards.

This allows businesses to spread out the cost of their website over a two year period while I am still able to charge a fair rate for my work (and have more predictable income, which is rare as a business owner).

Did somebody say win-win?

Besides the financial benefits, I found that Website Plans actually come with a lot of other advantages, including immediate ROI, less risk, a full warranty (unheard in our industry!), a more future-proof website, and faster turnaround.

Is a Website Plan right for you?

Website Plans won’t work for every project. In order to apply a flat rate for everyone, there are specific and limited deliverables available across three different packages (all of which have been built around past projects).

For the majority of businesses, one of the three packages will meet your needs.

The Lite plan is great for those who are just getting started with their business online.

The Plus plan is our most popular package for a more fully-featured website (including content marketing)

And the Premium plan is for businesses who are ready to grow and scale.

Website Plan customers can upgrade their plan at anytime — giving you the ability to scale your online presence as your business grows.

If you have questions or want help deciding which package is best for you, feel free to reach out and I’d be happy to chat!
